The frame gets hot from the engine and exhaust pipe that is right next to it, not nearly as much from the RR.

    Ohm's law - learn it.

tinkerinWstuff .. if your 'go learn it" comment was at me..
go ride your bike.. and then feel how hot the subframe is on the non r/r side..

if you dont like this set up. dont do it.
    have a nice night!

That would be the side that doesn't have the exhaust header right next to it and the heat shield right?

shit he is excited about his bike and what he has accomplished on it..... I don't remember there having to be a waiting period for posting threads on how to do something.......

Dood! What if it is "endangering" a bike or a person? There was one instance years ago about a guy who had a R/R fail up in Canada. He was raped by a bull moose according to the RCMP. It was horrible.

So did you mod your bike yet or do you still haul it from Santa Barbara to Sacramento to get it fixed?

What if "Gil" is a chica or a gay person or has white wheels?

I bet that customer would like to have his bike back. He probably thinks you are going to keep it. ;)

Just for fun you might contact Moto-International in Seattle for a liscense plate frame with "Cogito Ergo Zoom" on it. Moto is a Moto-Guzzi/Aprilia dealership owned by Dave Richardson whose book on Guzzis is a bible. The plate frame was the brainchild of Mark Pfenning who was national sales guy for Avon and until recently was National Sales dude for Triumph USA.

Zoom is a pun as sum would say.

Wow! Not only getting freebies work done on your bike but digs and chow for the family too. I am glad to see that it's not all about you.

IMO we should say a prayer for the guy who is still on OTC meds (Preparation H) from his moose encounter.

hummm, I think someone needs to brush up on linguistics. Zen is not Japanese, its chinese. It means "none" and refers to calmness of oneself. For me its a metaphore. For you its a joke. what does you name mean billy?

Yes its the net, doesnt mean you have to be an idiot. Thermal dynamics by wiki is a gloss overview. I suggest you pick up a book on power-engineering. 4th class course material is quite intresting. Stand-offs would only work if you replaced the frame with a suitable amount of metal to act as a heatsink. Increasing the surface area of a heatsink increases the thermal flow, not the thermal rate.

I agree wit gll that battery tender will not help the r/r as it is a three phase to dc rectifier (diode pack) and a postive voltage regulator. you can build this device for about $25. It just will not be in a nice package and have the right thermal rate- read will not last long.

Now I will take the time how ever belated to thank GLL429 for the pictures as they are helpfull to the new DIY mechanic. Not everyone is omniscient, posts do get lost, removed, mis-labled.

Well, If you say so. IMO, you may have zen and zone linguistically confused.
