Everything he said WAS productive and very well-informed, and you sound peevish.

I'm not peevish. It would have been productive had it not been for the perceived tone that I read it in, and the fact that I had already looked over the bike rather thoroughly. He apologized and clarified himself, and lets remember that I apologized too, did I not? Thank you Scubalong, I agree. Guys, I'm just a new member to the forum, It wouldn't hurt to make me feel welcome. Squirrelman, that's funny about the exhaust, but mine has a supertrapp exhaust so it is pretty much sealed right up. I know mice are impressive at getting into small areas, but I don't think they'ed fit through those tiny gaps between the plates.

My experience is with a 86 model VF500F which didn't have the fuel pump. I remember reading something about bypassing the fuel pump but since it didn't pertain to my application I didn't take it to heart. One of the best things you can do is Google this forum. The current forum, search feature sucks but if you type "site:vfrworld.com key word" you can search for specific gems of knowledge posted here.

Squirrelman's right. You never know what's up the tail pipe of a bike. I had a customer's BSA poop out a baggy of pot! It's not just mice that ya have to watch for. Here in Texas we have a wasp we call a "Dirt Dobber." They build nests out of mud and they will build them everywhere, under tanks, in air boxes and in electrics. You are probably right. the Supertrap is pretty secure.

Great, I will have to try the Google search trick. I tried the in-site search and it wasn't all that great as you said. Bag of pot huh? I bet that bike could have started to smell interesting...
