I like the looks, handling, speed, braking, and feel of sportbikes. Being realistic though, I propbably wont ever participate in a track day, I put on 6,000+ miles a year, and take several weekend and a seven day trip on my bike (what I can carry is what I get), so a sport bike doesnt have the comfort or storage needs. Enter the 6th gen VFR!

 

Geez, makes me feel old-er when I have a 23 year old kid, and you guys come in here saying your 20...

Maybe our future is not lost. At least you guys have enough common sense to buy a decent bike!

 

Whats more shocking is if you in a motorcycle dealership and someone doesnt know what the hell a VFR is. Thats a sad state of affairs. I was in my mid-twenties when I got my viffer :smile: still going after twenty years

 

I'm thinking that "old" is a state of mind. arty2: I'm still on the uphill side of 150. :tinfoil3: Didn't think my dad was old until he was past 80. :angel: Besides both my kids are under 11.
When I was in my mid 20's I test rode a GSX1100R, and decided that, while it was really fast, I didn't like the riding position - couldn't even see using it for a 50 mile commute. :vtr2:

I stopped aging after my first VFR purchase...that was 1988.... ah..... I Loved that 86.... she nearly killed me too... bitch...........

 

Im 31 and have a 5th gen.

 

I had a 1981 yamaha 650 special that tried & almost succeded in doing me in, Just for spite I kept the engine for nearly 10 years, before I finally scraped it ( The whore! ).

Hi I am 27 and own a 2002 vfr 6th gen that is Canadian made! The bike is silver and just put on silver fairing kit with black Honda wing on side fairings. This is my second bike since last year as I had a 2003 Ducati Monster 620 i.e. dark before that for three years.

 

All this time I thought Hondas were made in New Jersey. Now the damn things I come to find out are foreign. Even worse made in Quebec.

 

I'm 26, bought an 87 vfr700 from a friend a month ago. It fit my budget and needs some maintenance work just like any other older bike. Little did I know how much I would love the feel of it as the mileage added up. This is my 2nd bike, first one was an 06 R6 about 6 years ago. learned to ride on that, logged 6k miles in the first year and treated every road like a racetrack. It only went 176 and after it turned into a 300yd debris trail on the highway one day, I spent a few years trying to get my head out of my ass before I was in the right mindset for another bike. And again, just like everyone else, I now understand why this bike series is legendary and I want more of them. It's the only 87 I've ever known that turns EVERYBODY'S head for a second look

 

I should have been more clear on my 2002 vfr vtec. My bike is a Canadian model, not a U.S. model. I didn't mean to say that it was made in Canada. Sorry for the confusion.

 

86 vf500 second bike at age 24. First bike was an ft500 Ascot at 17.

Just ticked 24 years and about to tick 11,000 miles on the '03. Never really been one for thinking "young". Pretty much goes hand-in-hand with "stupid".

 

a young 62 when I get on, 25 while riding and 99 when I get off after a few hours...............still lots of fun
