I think in this case "guys" is assumed to be non gender specific. We have a few women who belong here, one of which is a moderator, and another has just returned here from a few years of absence. I value my life too much to ask them how old they were.

Which one of those is your's? I like both of them. Black was an option and seriously considered when I bought mine, but I had not long before, had a black Jimmy and got tired of cleaning it and rubbing out the swirls which are very noticeable in black, but almost invisible in the white.

I am approaching 70 and have been riding a vfr1200 dct for the past five years. Had to drop the pegs and add heli bars for comfort reasons and in consequence the bike has been very comfortable. I will pack it in this year though since I notice my reaction times and general flexibility have declined to point where it is not reasonable for me to be riding around on a powerful bike any more.

Sorry to hear that you have to pack it in.

Much respect for your decision to acknowledge your limitations.

Hi there. I am 72 and still riding and enjoying it . Thanks higher forces i am still strong and fast enough to harness the bike .
It is not that easy when it comes to harness myself. The memory is my worst enemy. I still remember when i was young and handsome. Now i am only handsome... :-( Jokes aside. I do run a monthly test of my reactions and abilities. The lost ones show to be lost due to seldom repetitions so i do train them up to previous level. Shall see when the adrenalin stops to act and then i shall put my helmet and gloves on the highest shelf.

The tricolour (white) is mine I guess the swirls are a trade off for the hours of wheel cleaning

Several yrs ago, I replied to this thread. I turn 71 this August. Am still riding my 2007 VFR800 and my 2012 VFR1200F. Both are in stock configurations.

I think it absolutely dastardly that this thread wasn’t inclusive and recognized that there are female riders out there. I believe the original poster should be flogged.

I can see you are from “politically correct” British Columbia. On the other hand to say that you value your life too much to ask a woman how old she is infers that all women are potentially violent. You can’t have it both ways lol.

Well said Randy! Nothing like a classy response to put me in my place. A bike site which is pretty much exclusively male doesn’t need a person from the opposite sex to make some feminist response to a simple thread, because she doesn’t feel included, being a woman. Why? Because the ugly head of political correctness rears it’s head, and decent people like yourself feel like they have to explain it to the poor damsel so she feels included. And then people like myself make a comment, upset you, and so it goes on. From little acorns big oak trees grow.

And that’s the last I shall say on this subject. I’ve made my point, whether well or poorly, it’s done.

Hell. What's going on here ? Two Canadians arguing about a feministic remark that should have been ignored in the first place IMHO. Respond to it, and it's not OK. Do not respond to it, and it's not OK either. It's an argument you can't win, so ignore it.

Bloody hell. We will get over it then drink beer next time are in each other's neighbourhood.

You should see us during Grey Cup (Canada's Superbowl if you will). It is not nice, but once the game is over, the party begins.

At 75, I’m a staunch member of this group! Many times in my many years I have referred to two or three woman in a group with men as guys, sure they are gals but you causally call the group guys!
So I have no problem calling our glorious group of VFR rider/owners ‘guys’.

66 and ride an 03 800 Vtec. Previously had two 1200 Bandits - loved them - a harley sportster, two 250 honda CRM's and way back when a Matchless 500. Oh and sadly a Vespa 300 (keep that one quiet though lol).

I'll be 71 next month. My current Interceptor is my 3rd VF(R), and my 51st motorcycle. All of the idiots who text while driving will make me quit riding long before I get too old to ride.

Asking someone their age in the context of motorcycle riding is like asking what kind of oil to put in it. It just doesn't matter and there is no right or wrong answer.

Not sure if I have already replied to this, put it down to age. I'm 79 and have a 1991 VFR FL 750 and a BMW K1300s. I have been going abroad to Europe twice a year, Germany and Cortina in the Dolomites. I have the Picos planned for next June which will be my fourth visit. I do between 6-8000 miles per year. Been riding on and off since 1958.
