I notice everybody wants Ohlins shocks/forks. Tom Sykes won the 2013 WSBK championship on Kawasaki with Showa suspension. Showa is completely capable of making great suspension components. However, Honda thinks everybody that rides a VFR weighs 120 lbs. and isn't smart enough to deal with adjustable compression and damping (ok, a lot of people aren't! :witless: ) The better suspension bits also drive the price up a lot. Our VFRs work great with CBR600/CBR929 Showa shocks and CBR or VTR fork guts or forks that have been reworked with proper spring weight and valving to match. If Honda decides to put high quality Showa suspension with springs centered on a 180 lb American on our imaginary VFR1000, it will cost a lot more and handle just fine right out of the crate.
