Well folks, here's what I have found. There are two dealerships in the Denver area that each have a brand new 2008 VFR. Both dealerships want 10,000 for the bike. Yeah, I understand it has 0 miles on it but it's 2 years old. Going from NADA and KBB values, the typical retail price for a 2008 VFR is only around 7,800. I'm not going to buy that much depreciation on a motorcycle. I think those dealerships are smoking crack.
Capn - Not sure what's going on with those prices, other than maybe Spring Fever (or the crack smoking you mentioned). There are too many threads and posts on this forum to count of folks purchasing new (leftover) VFRs at 25% to 30% less than what those dealers are currently mentioning. I hope you don't get discouraged by some of the prices you're seeing. These really are some fine bikes, and there are deals to be found. Of course, any dealer is probably going to be more than a private party seller. Also, although it still wouldn't justify the price tag, do any of these bikes your looking at have either ABS or Factory Hard Bags? Those are 2 options that could potentially drive up the price. Keep looking, sir! You'll find the one that's right for you and won't regret it.
