70's Honda Trail 70 (my childhood dirt bike)
80's Honda CB125 (what my parents got me as transportation after totaling two cars.)

A long break from graduating college till about 10 years ago without a bike. (Shame on me)

84 Honda 700 Nighthawk (Blows away the 750 Nighthawks Honda sold in the 90s)
02 Suzuki SV650 (Miss this one. Fun, but not comfortable for a long ride)
?? Suzuki GS500e (track bike, totally stripped of lights and speedo)
?? YSR50 (Racebike, easiest thing to get your knee down with)
06 Honda Silverwing (Momentary lapse of insanity had me go for the practicality of a megascooter)

And now, my current and only bike, 92 VFR 750.

man, there are a lot of long-time riders here! i suspect some of you have been riding longer than i've been alive :p

1st bike - 1987 yamaha FZ600. hated it, rode it once and sold it. circa fall 2005

2nd bike - 1989 honda CB-1. I loved this bike, and was very sad when i had to sell it for financial reasons. i should have kept it... the value on those things has sky rocketed! spring 2006 - spring 2007.
    http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/mdharrisuiuc/bike/6.jpg

3rd bike - 1989 honda hawk gt. i love this bike, still have it, and much to the chagrin of some have decided to make it a track bike. purchased fall 2007.
    http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i167/mdharrisuiuc/putnam_desktop.jpg

4th bike - 1998 vfr 800. i bought it less than a week ago, and am completely enamored. it is a wonderful bike! sorry, no decent pictures of it... yet ;)

Three, unless the ole Yamahopper QT50 counts - then four. Had a Suzy DS80 when I was like 12, road the moped from 14-16 and then drove a car until my buddy gave me an old bike that had been sitting in his yard for seven years.
('78 Suzy GS400) Spent two months and $500 making it ridable, took the license test on it and road the crap out of it for two-three years until I broke something I couldn't fix. That was five years ago, but two years ago I found this hot red girl on Cycle trader - 18,000 miles and Happily ever after! Hope to have an old school bobber someday too.

Very impressive lists fellas! Anyone else get the sense that we VFR riders are more of an enthusiast type of rider? I hope I'm in the game long enough to own as many bikes as some of you have.

That being said, been street riding for 4 1/2 years now. Lotta' miles and only a few bikes:

    1. 2003 Honda Shadow ACE 750 - 20,000 miles
    2. 2004 CBR1000RR - 8,xxx miles (RIP)
    3. 2003 CBR1100XX Blackbird - 31,000 miles
    4. 1997 Honda F3 - Track bike
    5. 2003 VFR800 - 14,500 miles so far since last May

To all the girls I've loved before.......

    The future holds:

Another 1000RR. Not sure why? Guilty pleasure I guess.
A BMW of some sorts. Preferably a sporty boxer like the r1200s.

Wow, this list is more impressive than the thread I started - "What would your other bike be?". Just goes to show that reality is better than imagination.

    bike list for now

    Harley 1200 Roadster
    Harley Fat Boy
    Honda VFR '01
    Harley FXST (current)
    Honda 919 Hornet (current)

Trading my Interceptor for the Hornet was the dumbest deal I've made.
I'm currently looking at an SV1000s (love to try a sport twin) and a Kawi ZZR600, but I know I'll end up with another VFR sooner or later. It is the one to have if you can only have one!

Counting street bikes only.....I started in 1983 with a '75 Yamaha RD350. Man that little 2stroke 2 cylinder would fly. It was only good for a tad over 100mph but would get there in a hurry. Taking off hard on the throttle would point the headlight towards the sky thru the first 3 gears, a tug on the bars would lift the wheel in 4th. In 1988 I bought a '84 red/black Honda Nighthawk S 700. Moved on to a brand new '91 Nighthawk 750 and in 1993 I picked up a '85 GL1200 Gold Wing. I rode both the "hawk" and the "wing" till 2000 when I decided I wanted a VFR. In my search I found a left over red '99 and a new yellow '00. It seemed everbody with a bike had red so the yellow bumble bee came home and I haven't looked back.

How does the RC46 compare to the standard VFR?
I was young and foolish then.

1979 Kawasaki 250 - my first street bike (sold)
    2004 Suzuki 500GS (sold)
    2005 Honda VFR 800 (own)
And another to own next summer: 2009 Harley Road King (1585cc.)

Note: I'm thinking of removing my "for sale" ad on the VFR. I don't want to part with her. It's not a "bad thing" to have 2 bikes for next summer is it? Do any of you out there have 2 or more bikes? If so, how do you "justify" it?
