EVvy's bike is evidently #37. Last of VIN reads 900037. I ordered it Jan 2, 2007. Kind of a new year resolution. I have no idea how many were produced but I like them all!! EV.

So we know that hawkman's #008 went swimming and lost her life, and unknown owners #212 got a bit crispy. :rip:

We lost another one in my area this past fall. It made the evening news. An 18 year old went to pass somebody on a blind hill and hit a car cresting the hill coming in the opposite direction. I've been looking locally to see if it came up for sale, but haven't seen it. It was totaled - parts only. No way of knowing the VIN.

Stargzr: I bought mine in January 08 from Rick Case in Miami FL. Mine was right in front of your's on the assembly line, #185!
Mine's got ABS. How about yours? Got about 800 miles on it. Looking for an excuse to go on a LD trip. Here's a pic, not that the RWB are all that different...... Old&New.jpg
My 85 Baby Interceptor is with my new RWB.

    RWB Interceptor

    CJK-
You will love it. It's interesting that you have a BMW RT. I also have a R1100RS 2001. I guess the crossover is logical. Both are put out there as a sport tourer. Have fun with the Interceptor.

The thing us BMW guys have to overcome is that the VFR likes to be reved. The BMW can start out idling with all that tourque. The VFR likes to start out with some revs going and take it up to 5 grand or so before shifting. Tear out the pages in the manual regarding shift points. If you shift "by the book" you'll return the bike to the dealer thinking something is wrong. This thing likes to rev. It actually drives smoother when you do. If you let it lug along it will buck and run rough. Crank the throttle and you find out this thing is awesome. Maybe it's obvious but that was the biggest thing I had to overcome after driving the tourquey boxer for so long.

    WOW!!! That's Richard Petty's old number. I'd like that one. I don't guess 0805 was anybody's number.

    Right on.....

When I test drove a 6th gen at the dealer, I told him about the low RPM lugging which I wasn't use to. He said, Oh yeah, it's a V4. I didn't think much about it. Mine you, my BMW doesn't care about revs. I don't even know why they give you 5 speeds on the thing. It doesn't matter. The boxer delivers smooth commanding power where ever you are. I suppose you could rev it but it's not necessary unless you are racing. I finally figured out how to drive the bike on day 3. The Interceptor is so smooth, you can't tell it running. I hardly ever use 6th gear commuting. I'm having too much fun with the other gears. Awesome bike. I'm addressing seat issues and heading out for some touring. See ya.....

I like my RT, but we don't take the big trips we used to. Its really a great bike, handles incredibly well for its size. I will keep it for now and see if the VFR fills all my needs.

I dont think it will be a problem getting back on a VFR. I had an 86 RWB around 1996, another great bike. Ive missed it since selling it so when I saw the new RWB, I was hooked.

If you need a more comfy seat, check out this guy.

He did the RT seat that I did the IBA runs on. 23 hours and 40 minutes on the bike and my wrist was sore (no cruise) but my butt wasnt too bad.

I hear good things about Sargent also, not quite as comfy but better looking. All depends what your after.
