Thanks again for the replys. 200,000 miles has to be a record for a first gen. If not it has to be real close. Wow

Wow. Now my 100,000 miles on mine seems so ....meaningless.....

Have owned mine since August 06 when it was still in the crate. I was so green to riding bikes, the salesman rode my brand new bike to my house cause up to that point, I had never ridden a bike a all. Didn't even have the learners permit.

Bought my '99 on 9/12/01 with 3K on it, coming up on 11 years and 80K miles. Still riding it every day. Bought a 1KR in '07, rebuilt it, sold in '11, just bought it back.

Well I have fallen in love with my vfr all over again and have cured my desire to try something different. A friend of a friend brought me her buell s1 lightning to be worked on. Well I had to test ride it of course and in the first ten minutes it was cool but after that all I wanted to do was go back home and get my vfr. You name it its falling apart on it from fork oil leaking down on the brake to the motor sounding like its about to grenade underneath me. They call it a seat but it sure don't feel like a seat. At stoplights I felt like I was sitting on top of a washing machine. I'm guessing that is what she likes about it though. But as a guy I think I will be keeping my vfr at least another 5years. All I need to do is ride a buell when I start thinking of something new and I will always keep my vfr.

I picked mine up new in March 2012. This is my first VFR, so I am a little late to the game. Absolutely love the bike! Now I wish I would have gotten one YEARS ago!! The only thing I have a gripe about is the tires. Thought they would have lasted a few more miles...

Haha yeah me too. I can get about 3500 out of my front but am lucky to get 2000 miles out of the rear. That's with pilot powers. Tried the pilot power 2ct and its about the same. Going to try some pilot roads or roadsmart next time.

Awesome stories -Love it- I failed to mention that the last 3000 miles I owned my 84 , second gear was pretty much gone, but I definitely road the crap out of it and through al the trips and I'm sure a little abuse, that bike NEVER left me on the side of the road-Thats why I returned to the Interceptor
