Tires are Conti Road Attack. Anyone have a problem with the rear tire squaring off? I have seen the remark in a few reviews.

Monk that is a great video. I want his tires - and skill.

5000 miles. 2500 on new tires. No severe weather but so far I'm happy.

I have had two pair of Dunlops but the last set were Pilot Road 2's. They are due for replacement and I am going back to them. A few here may ride in the rain more than me, but a very few. I am pleased with the Michelins

ive been using my Conti RA's for 7 months now, i put em on just before our winter started and have had a chance to ride them in all conditions(except snow). im very pleased with their performance and wear to date.
on my last tour in August i was able to push them very hard in both rain and wet road sections with little or no problem.
The key i found was to dial in the suspension to suit your riding style and optimise the tyre performance and to make sure you keep the pressures accurate by checking them regularly.

The dry road grip has been outstanding. I have and regularly lean the VFR heavily in highway on/off loops without issues. The "nervousness" the front end exhibited with the original Dunlops is missing.

As mentioned I have not ridden a distance in heavy rains but have done quite a few miles on wet roads on my work route of highway/curvy back roads. The tires stay planted letting the suspension do its job and allowing me to concentrate on riding.

The Conti's warm quickly or just have very good cold weather performance. A few of my last rides were in sub 40° temperatures. Grip remained consistant from the first mile to the last.

If I buy another tire next time it will only be for experimentation not displeasure with the Road Attacks.

I know this is a late reply but some of you might want to look at the Avon Storm ST. This is a great tire and the tire just seems to suit this bike. I have had Metzler as well in the past and they were great but the Avons were amazing. I rode back from Salt Lake (2009) and got caught in a downpour going through Yellowstone. There was sleet and heavy rain, the bike was two up and loaded with luggage and this bike with those tires was just amazing.

I recently put rain x on visor and boy did it make a differance. The water drops no longer pool and blur my vision. Hasnt ruined my face sheild yet and its been a month. Something to consider if your riding in the rain.... cause it doesn't matter what you are riding or what the tires are if you cant see.

I tried the stock 204s that came with mine, they are "ok" (yes i realize there is better tires) in the dry environment but wet i found them a tad nervous and wanted to wander (our roads have frost heaves in them, some small others you slow way down for) did the job but not quite a good tire. Im going to try another dunlop, d616 zr and see befor i shell $500+ for tires(yes thats cnd)

    Zen,

I replaced my stock (when worn) with upgrqded Dunlop D205's for about $520.00 installed and ballanced and was no impressed. When they wore, I went to the Michelin RP2 for $616, installed and ballanced. I have been quite pleased with them. I have a brand new set of RP2's in the garage waiting to be installed that I ordered from back in Quebec. Got them delivered for $336.41 and expect to pay $30.00 each to install. I guess my point here is I was happy enough with the RP2's that I went back to them. And my riding is all weather and all the time.( except snow, then I have been caught in that too)

    3500 miles on Continentals.

Dry surfaces: Good grip in turns. Solid stops - any quicker and my ears would touch.

Wet: The tires instill confidence. The only hydroplaning was when hitting standing water at near highway speed. Leaning is smooth.

Plan on taking them to the track. If so I will give feedback especially if it rains.

I got caught out in a downpour (and the subsequent wet roads) about a month ago with a BRAND new Michelin Pilot Power 2CT front and a nearly new Pilot Road 2CT rear, and the bike was dead solid. My biggest issue was reduced visibility from the car spray all around me.

I was actually pushing it a little through some of the curves, and it stuck really well.

In the dry, this is an excellent combination for the VFR of any generation.

Rainex on the outside of your visor is your friend. Dishwashing liquid on the inside of your visor is you best friend.

Get yourself a set of Michelin Pilot Road 2's. Pilot Road TWO's. Long wearing center compound with Pilot Power compound on the shoulders. Can't beat them for straight line longevity and leaned over grip. I'm LOVING mine.

Did all day SED at VIR. Had Michelin Power Pures mounted. There was misting mid day and the track was wet for an hour or so. The bike did well. Got loose a couple of times due to improper braking/shifting but never loss control. Even in the wet the VFR leaned over well and followed my lead through the turns. I rarely noticed the second set of vavles at 6400 rpm. No need for a power commander - don't waste your money. I have inspired confidence for the street. Considering its wet track performance a rainy day on the road (with good tires) is of no concern. Ride on.
