Be glad to have you! Make sure you bring a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops. Not for riding of course, as that's what squids wear!

Always have 'em with me, bud!!!

I'll also be bringing a second riding jacket for better airflow that is different than my touring jacket (the one I'm wearing in my avatar photo).

I have a medical appointment today. I will be on two wheels. Just not too sure yet what the propulsion will be.

Slides? Google Frank Slide. Size wise, the Frank was smaller than the Hope Slide but the Hope was far bigger. Photos of both do nothing to let you get a feeling of the enormity of these slides. I have been to both Hope is just a half hour ride from here. There is thought to be a few people buried in that one which buried a highway that was never dug out. They just made a new highway over top the rubble.

Correct Gator, and AM, I was in Mongolia for a couple of weeks, down near the Chinese border in the Gobi desert for the first week and up North towards the Russian border with Siberia for the second week.
While it was pretty cold, there were still a fair few people out on motorbikes, and none of them had access to heated gear, they were just rugged up as best they could and keeping the speed and wind chill down. At least they didn't have to worry too much about ice on the roads in the south, it was below zero but it's so arid that there is very little ice or snow. Further north we had some snow and ice and the rivers were well on their way to being completely frozen over but I wouldn't have trusted the ice to walk on yet.

The entire West Coast and especially in the SoCal areas are prone to landslide/mudslides. Geologically the causal is "slump". Many other factors are inclusive. This has been recorded in California journals since the initialization of parceling off of the Spanish Land Grants in the early 1800s. The effect can be quick like the slides in and around the La Conchita area or really slow as in one area of the Palos Verdes peninsula where some really pricy houses built in the 1950s with a spectacular view of several offshore islands are still making their way back to the ocean. Also, that same geology was one of the factors causing Marineland of the Pacific to close. Gotta love the irony on that one. The place is now a Trump dump.. erm, resort.

The Satana Winds (not Santa Ana BTW, St Ann would roll over in her crypt and smite the Devil if she was clued in) and fires are the same deal. Been around for years. We can lay most of the genuine blame for the destruction and loss of live from those more recent fires on the fuckin real estate lobbys, sleazy politicians and builders who know better. Added to that ya got the nutters who get off to fires, and idiots who camp once a year and even then shit where the live and the high rollers who when building a fire on the"barbie"start off with enough combustibles to send smoke signals to Sitting Bull that Custer is in his hood.

Well, I turned in my early ballet yesterday, so I'm completely free to ride today; and what a glorious day weather wise to be able to ride in Socal. North San Diego County weather is clear as a bell with over night lows of 63* and a high today of 90*! Enjoy your day every body; and thank God this F***ing election is almost over! Twenty months of campaigning! Enough already!

Tell me about it. I rode to SD today for a project (15 and Ted Williams Parkway) and it was still warm when I headed home @4:30PM. It was still in the high 70's low 80's until sun was completely down, then it was @70 the rest of the way home. On a good note, the water pump and thermostat replacement held up!

Yeah, limited time. Maybe when I go back and do the next set of rooms. There was a decent Asian fusion restaurant right around the corner from their building.
