I should gloat and take all the credit, but alas, if it wasn't for Stoshmonster and Deadsmiley walking me through the R/R problem, I would have never know.

It was all about the timing. My bike was jacked up, and you have the same problems. If the situation was reversed, you'd be the one telling me how to fix it.

Oh well, the good news is that you got a new MAP sensor and you're dealer is honoring the warranty. Damn good thing too. This wouldn't have been cheap. Now just make sure they do it right this time!

Right again? You're too kind sir. According to Mrs. Pliskin I've never been right...

ok now this is starting to get annoying, its been a week i called the dealership and they said the fi light is still on and they're trying their best to see what the problem is, they replaced the map sensor, they checked the R/R, all the wirings etc. now they're saying they're testing the computer and they think its whats causing a electrical problem and they might have to change out the bikes computer, and see if that fixes it. as much as i like them throwing in all these new free parts i do want my bike to ride already =(

    Patience dude!

They are probably doing more than they say by talking to Honda too. Free parts? You have a goldmine there. Most dealers would bend you over a sawhorse and tell you to grit your teeth.

I would ask for the old parts though just to make sure..

Now if you can sweet talk them into a non OEM R/R too, you can give lessons and make a fortune.. :)

I dont think its the computer, it it was causing the problem then other sensors would throw codes too. I bet they checked the r/r the old fashion way, start it and put a meter on it then call it good. you need a special and not that expensive alternator/battery tester to put a large load on while you watch the dip and recovery of the battery voltage.

if they are throwing new parts on, let the! that ecu costs $3000! if you buy it.

I'll be bold and go on record to say it ain't the ECU. But good for you that you're getting it replaced. (And I hope that I'm wrong).

So per Crusty, I'm now officially being a dick:
