Yeah, I work at a hospital with 75% Harley riders ( western Pa. , 95% Harley s ) even they were commenting about the incredible paint. I feel the same as lshark about this bike, it's a blast. Still have a Superhawk , another highly underrated bike. Actually not underrated received great reviews, and those that bought them love them; poor on the sales floor. Love my 2010!

You yunguns sit back I'll tell ye a story...

Way back in the year of our Lord two thousand and two there was a big change in the Honda lineup of sport touring models...

It was a change that would shake the very foundations of what does or does not constitute a VFR. Honda had the audacity to change something about a bike that had won numerous bike of the year awards! Can you believe that?

Why would a bike company ever change something that was working? By working I mean, the meager sales they did have inspired a cult like following, but not $$ generating following.

So what did they do? They released the 2002 VFR 800 or dreaded 6th generation. Why it was heavier! It looked funny! It didn't even have gear driven cams! Who would ever buy one of those hideous things?

So you know what happened, you all got used to it.

The 7th gen is here now and the generation wars have a new player.

Does this mean there are more important things about VFRs than paint color? OMG!!

Not to take this thread off topic, but I can vouch.
This area is terrible, you rarely see any bike other than a Harley. I have yet to see a 7th gen or 5th gen (other than mine) in person, and only saw a 4th gen at a bike night.

We are still trying to get Honda to fix our 2010 models (surging/stumbling) There are now four of us in the U.S and one in Canada (bought in U.S. though) with the same unresolved problem and Honda has told us nothing we can do for you. We are pursuing under the lemon law, but until Honda steps up I would be leary.

Are the problems with the red one's, the blue one's or the black one's? If you are talking five different dealerships that are saying the same thing, then Honda Inc is doing the save face thing just like the failing and failed who knows how many R/Rs on who knows how many bikes and who knows how many bucks spent by VFR riders over more than 20 years.

You dudes may surge forever at that rate. Bottom line? Spring for a new chip.. and have somebody who knows what they are doing do the install.

Can this be fixed by a Power Commander? The 6th Gen has the same issue at low speeds and that is the way to fix it. Yes, it is a $300 fix, but it is well worth it.

Bazzaz? Installed mine yesterday and all I can say is Wow. Best $50 I have ever spent on something performance related. Definately the most bang for the buck. A new bike in the first 3 gears.

Ours are the red 2010, yes five different bikes, different states, different dealerships. Same issue was going on in Europe where sales were hot and Honda fixed them. PC may fix it but most of us have factory warranties that will be voided with a PC not to mention the principle end of things. Unfortunately the Zbomb does not fix this problem, all that does is trick the bike into thinking it's in third all the time, our problem is different from the lag you feel during the restriction and even exhibits the bucking and stuttering in 3rd gear around 3500 rpms. One of the guys having this issue also installed a z bomb and still experienced the same issue. I love VFR's, but after the blazie attitude Honda has given concerning our issue I am very leary and not as confident as I used to be with their product. They even went so far as to tell me maybe it could be the way I ride. I have been racing powersports and riding streetbikes for the last 30 years as well as repairing my equipment myself this included a complete engine overhaul on my 85' Interceptor 500 to replace a damaged timing gear.

aftermarket fuel management ( power comm, Z-FI etc ) or any modification, will not effect your warraty unless proven to be the cause of the problem....US Federal law

If all other avenues fail, I will be forced the PC route, love my bike aside from the issue I am having and would do anything to keep it. I like that you don't see many on the road unlike my previous bikes.

Thanks for the info, currently working on collecting receipts from the dealer and filing lemon law paperwork with NYS Attorney General.

Odd that Honda fixed "them" in Europe and American and Canadian dealers could not or would not.

In prepping for a legal battle with the big boys, they really don't give a shit about your racing , riding or wrenching.

Maybe a class action suit would be the ticket. That way the lawyers will all be able to pay cash for new Harleys and you dudes will have enough to buy new chips.

Dealer has not experienced the issue, but they have not put more than 50 miles on it. I've gone 300 miles without a glitch others 1500 between episodes. Did catch it acting up on Go Pro so I had audio/video, however Honda says not good enough since they couldn't see my throttle hand. If enough people stand up and report it to NHTSA instead of buying PC's to fix Honda's f*-@k ups then they might start standing behind their product. When Toyota had sticky gas pedals did people lube the linkage and say good enough for me. Tons of these bikes sold in Europe so statistacally they would have more cases of failure, since this bike was essentially a flop in the US market it's piss off to that market; thats why we can get red for 2010 or blue for 2012. Europe had black, silver, white, red and a import of the 2011 model. Why because that's the market padding their pockets.

But the PC is reversible. In the event the PC was the root cause of a different problem, how would the dealer know it was installed? I'm just thinking that it fixed all of my throttle / FI woes on the 6th Gen and if it does the same for the 7th, then it is worth the investment. I agree that the bike shouldn't have had these issues from the factory, but it does. If Honda isn't going to fix it, then it's up to you.

seems like the problem is a bad ECU, and the PC/Juice box does not replace the ECU it just adds fuel where needed to meet desired air /fuel ratio...will not correct a malfunction and doesn't replace any potentially bad parts......excluding this glitch that is affecting some 2010's, bikes leave the factory needing PC's because of the EPA
