I read an article some time back that HD had denied an owner's warranty claim because he flew too many flags on the back of his bike and it cause undue wear on the engine and transmission.

They probably found out that those flags were made in China!

I think you are spot on with your annalists but for one thing, the younger generation, the prime earners, are saddled with college debt. This is keeping them from making many major purchases like cars, bikes and homes. The "Street" is Harley's attempt at a regular, updated motorcycle for the masses and the jury is still out on that effort. Harley has a really poor track record connecting with new customers and offering new products. I think their current customer base might just be their biggest impediment to change and sales. There is another factor. Indian is kicking their ass all over the place with better looking, more technically advanced bikes that still carry that Americana market mystique. Harley is painted into a corner.

"more technically advanced bikes"? An overhead valve air cooled V-twin is a more technically advanced bike?

Just yanking your chain a bit actually.

Lets face it, a protozoa is more technically advanced than a Harley.

I hope this is "Fake News", cause Harley will most likely pull support from MotoGP, World Superbike and all the other road racing series. Because damn it! That's gonna take away from their pocketbooks and the reinventing of the same old motorcycle.

I always though Protozoan was a form of government created by great leader.
