I was issued a complete Gortex Suit in the Mounties. I recall one accident scene where I was stuck at roadside in a drizzle for about 4 hours on the freeway and got soaked to the skin. And in quite short order too. I find that Gortex may be fine for those going our for a casual short ride in the city, or shorter bicycle rides, or running and walking and the such, but not on a motorcycle, and not prolonged periods of time. I am sure there are those out there who may disagree and that is fine. BTW, I kept my Gortex in proper repair. It was new, and treated with the best out there and not contrary to any Gortex instructions. This is what I presently have: Teknic 2011 - Jetstream 2PC Rainsuit You will find that the ventilation is such in this suit, that so long as you are moving, there is enough air flow that you don't sweat any more that in Gortex, which isn't as breathable as they claim. I got an extra large so that it fits over my winter suit. The neck has a long Velcro strap that wraps nicely around your neck for warmth. The pants are large though. They come almost up to my chin. I look like a dork without the jacket over top. Urkel was a hunk compared to what I look like. This suit is about 2 years old, is worn very frequently and was worn on at least one trip to Atascadero. And it is still holding up well.
Usually, yes. We got 2 inches of rain here last night alone. The last week has been kinda soggy. Looks to be pretty nice over the holiday weekend though.
Yeah, well we are supposed to get an inch and half from now to tomorrow morning. Drewl you have sent that shit up here. I am going to send you snow....yellow snow...don;t eat it.
