Dats Funny! - As far as sliding the forks up in their respective tripple clamps. It has nothing to do with suspension but all to do with wheel-base. Your essentially shorting wheel base and making a faster steering motorcycle. Its nice to have a front wheel stand that has a pin that goes under your lower tree, it slips in there, and then you simply lever the bike off the ground. Its nice for doing wheel service, shameless plug, Woodcraft makes a nice one  AnywhoOOoo...Sometimes, I am telepathic, my grand-mah :rip: had it in spades fer real, once she had a double hip replacement in her 70's they sort of cut it out of her, and no more esp, or was it espn?

They are stronger, last longer but actually make the bike a bit harder to steer cuz of increased bearing contact area and they dull some feedback front from the tire contact patch compared to OEM ball bearings. Most racers prefer balls for better feedback but replace them every race.

Your VFR may seem a bit harder to steer than a lighter bike but holds a good, sharp line if you're not going too fast, have a bumpy road or shit tires.
Do your learning slow, and you can trust the sportbike nature of the beast, but to ride fast you need expensive fork and shock upgrades.

If you just want to ride irresponsibler you can scare yourself with a -1/+2 or+3 sprocket change that will moderately transform your bike at low cost. No telling how long your DL would last.

I felt a smoother off idle response after dis-abling the pair valve. You can see if you want to take it off by just plugging the hose that feeds into the airbox. It is in the front of your airbox. If its like mine you can tell by all the crud in front of it. I just enjoy tinkering on bikes so I figured it can't hurt anything by not having it. The flapper I did that for the little extra intake noise which I love. Its true neither one is going to dd any kind of hp but I just like getting rid of the smog crap anyway. As far as leaving it alone, what's the fun in that. I love working on my bike or other bikes. Its a part of owning a bike is to personalize it and make it your own. If not it might as well be a car. Just my .02 cents anyway

another way to get quicker steering is to raise your rear ride height. I read a thread on her a few years ago and basically you take a 4 or 5mm washer and place it on the top of your shock under the mounting point so that you are making your shock longer. I did that instead of lowering my front end. By doing the rear you will also gain some ground clearance.

Raven may have to wait in line. Norkleboy is stalking Long. Love or lust?

Sliding those forks the other way will result in the chopper look..

If most of what we see on the net is true, everyone works in an office in one of those corrall things and has a woman boss.
