Hey Jake, just an idea, you might try going to court and plead guilty with an explanation (tell your story) and ask for community service days in Lou of the fine due to financial hardship. Might get your fine reduced, you never know.

Always plead guilty. It's your God given and Constitutional right. It ain't all that smart ,but what the hell.

Another great defense is burning your house down and then pleading homelessness or killing your parents and telling the judge you're an orphan.

 

Agree 100%. Also you might have the opportunity to get on a payment plan if the community work does not pan out. I suspect that may not happen in California who "appear" to be traffic fine hungry. I just don't know what options are open to you in California. I am sure a couple phone calls to your judicial offices or your DMV might tell you what the score is that way.

 

What a great idea! Very original and well thought oot. Another alternative is not to pay up and work off the fines in the slammer providing conjugal visits to lonely inmates.

 

Probably would still have to pay whole fine, who else is gonna pay for all that evian h2o the state is trucking in.

Wrap up the check in a plastic grocery bag before mailing it in.

And high service bills, and mounting frustration. Of course the frustration could be on account of the explanation listed above.
