It's ok Im over it. Im sure there are other good VFRs around. In fact one of my friends at work heard me talk about this sour experience and told me has has a VFR 99 with 24k miles with Givi trunk, new tires, upgraded rectifier, grip warmers, throttle meisters and the whole works. He wants 3600 which I think is good. Told me to take it for a couple of days and try it out.

As Duccmann says, that dude was a dick!

Those prices seem high to me to be honest. I would be thinking around $3,000 for a 5th gen. I bought a 98 with 6k on it way back in 2006 for $3600. That was seven years ago. Oh well, the market does fluctuate up and down depending on supply and demand so you can only work with what is available in your area now and it sounds like you are doing your homework.

I hope you find a nice one!

That really sucks to have it sold out from under you, but it sounds like your friend's offering you an even better deal. Honestly, the price doesn't matter as much to me if I like the bike, within reason of course. I paid $4000 plus fees to get my 5th-gen from a dealership with 12k on it, and haven't regretted it for a second.

Scubalong, that photo looks like VFR heaven on Earth!

    Amen to that DuccMan,

dude you should've pulled the trigger @ $3600, you got to know that when selling a bike on CL you get 50 strokers for every 1 qualified/interested buyer.

you could've probably flipped it for 5k if it was cherry

Just wanted to update you guys. Just bought a 1999 VFR with 24,500 miles on the odometer (my friends bike) and really like it. I got a decent deal on it and it was delivered right to my door! I need to change the front sprocket back to the factors 17 (he put a 16) and a few other maintenance stuff. Will post picture of it soon.
