The issue with soldering up, is that I don’t have power to hand, and if I need to get in to the fuel pump or filter I have to unsolder again

I don’t have any power in the garage where I keep the bike, and a gas powered iron would be very dangerous

So I’m looking for a sensible high amp connector, I thought that would be good enough?

Again, I'd say the Andersons are quite good, mainly if you have a square area contact greater than the original wire... slightly overdesign if that's a better way of putting it.... it will handle the current, not overheat, and they are plated to resist corrosion... contact paste will help coat them so oxidation doesn't occur.
I used 50 amp Andersons to connect my jumper cables with 10 ga. wires, that kind of overdesign is what I mean. Max temporary current might have been 30-40 amps during a jump.
If you are upgrading to a mofset R/R, then all the better.
