Go to Regulator/Rectifier replacement?

Past discussion regarding that brand suggests that you will regret wasting money and time on it.

 

Guess I'll be reporting back on my own experiences then... Thanks for taking the effort to post back but i'd already cracked open my wallet, I read your response about an hour after comitting.....du'oh. It looks good I have to say, cables are about twice the size of the standard Honda ones, its metal backed (rather than potted) and comes with a fairly meaty mounting plate/heatsink. Time will tell.

 

I took a chance on a used unit from fleebay. Bought one off off a 2012 Yamaha FZ8 with 1100 miles on it according to the breaker. Insalled 5 seasons/ ~10k miles ago without issues thus far. I think I spent 35 - 40 USD at the time.
