    I'll understand poppers/mile for 2 reasons...

    1. I am 48 and ran with the Imperial system most of my school days and

    2. My bike is a US model...miles and Fahrenheit for me!!

I will most certainly wait patiently for your findings.

Back to "topic" my '98 got on average 39MPG with my schizophrenic riding style.

Poppers are measured in Scoville Units. It is the American way.

Did your government slap you with a bunch of taxes and tarriffs importing your US model bike?

Back in the day when the first SV's were coming in faired to Canada and unfaired into the US, some of the Canadian dealers near the borders figured out how to do the sales and would deliver the faired bikes on the US side. Never did figure out why the faired/unfaired decision was made in the first place. Same deal on colors of various bikes.

I picked mine up used in 2009 in a private sale here in Ontario. I tried for a month or 2 to buy a metric cockpit but it really wasn't that big a deal so I gave up.

Returning back to the thread's topic...My 6th gen, '03 bike hovers around 40 mpg on everyday driving with burst of VTEC goodness sprinkled sporadically for fun. I only use regular and the occasional additives.

Poppers or Jo-jo's aren't additives but they are great gas producers. They might even keep some of the Canadian dudes regular.

Don't rely on the gauge. Its just that - a gauge. My gauge is off - when I have one bar showing/blinking, I know I still have over 1.5 gallons. I don't know how many miles that will get me, but I know I'll make it to the next gas station. Good enough.

These are 5.5 gallon tanks. If you know anyone only getting 140 mile to a tank, I'd classify that as really bad.

So you got 166 miles to your "tank". How many gallons did you put in? For conversations sake, if you put in 5 gallons, that's 33mpg. If you only put in 4.6gallons, now you got 36mpg. You get the idea. Many guys on the 5th gen state they get at least 30 to 40, some much higher.

Aside from my comments about "who cares about mpg", I actually do know that I average about 33-35mpg, but have never seen 40mpg. Then again, I have never taken my bike out and not hit redline on multiple occasions either...
