I love my Zumo, almost as cool as the bike. I use it on the bike and in the car with the car kit. I installed it with a diamond base mount from CycleGagets.com. They were very helpful. The holes of the diamond base must be redrilled to a new center line as the tank holes and the base holes are a little different. A 1/8" drill and about 4.893 minutes and you are there. It makes a great place to mount it. I have not connected the Bluetooth or the satelite radio. That will have to come once I figure out how the get sound into the helmet and throught the earplugs. Maybe custom hearing devices are the answer. Those are baout $300 more. I will wait a while longer.

A word in comment about Garmin. I had an Etrex on the SV650. It was old but worked great. One day I dropped and instantly kicked it across the garage floor. It did not survive. I sent it to Garmin along with the whole, true story. They replaced it with a new one, NO CHARGE. I am a Garmin man from now on.

    Hope these pics help!

    Hey Guys,
I'm new here. Got run over on my FJR so now I'm looking at an Interceptor replacement maybe ??? Are they making them in 2008 ??? Anyways back to topic. I have a zumo and love it it is WaterPROOF not resistant. Text to speech tells you alll street names. Big display and nice screen that is gasoline resistant. I got mine off of Amazon.com for $691 with no tax or shipping charges. I thought that was a great deal.
Hope to have a honda soon,
    Mike in Ohio

    Hallo everybody,
I'm AGAdisen from Italy and I'm the lucky owner of a VTEC of 2005 (Bluetec05is its name).
Last year I installed the Zumo 550 on my bike and I'm very satisfacted of it.
Using th original mount kit I installed it on the left side of the bar, so that I can use it by my left hand, while I'm riding too.
Zumo also have an optional mount kit to be used in car and it also works as viva voice to phone without hands.
It has a lot of functions, including MP3: it's fantastic ride the bike listening to my favorite rock song.
Zumo take electricity directly from the battery: cable is included and instructions are very easy and completed. Next summer I'll buy a bluetooth ear to better listen music, to hear autovelox allert message and use the phone too.
I recommended Zumo to everyone I know: it's so fantastic that any friends of mine that in the past used other navigators have now moved to Zumo.
    Best regards Sergio AGAdisen

Didn't see this info in a previous post up in this thread, but if you are interested in mounting a Zumo or any other GPS, radar detector or camera to the VFR this is another source for mounts. The location is TechMounts.com and I have their stem mount GPS holder for my Zumo on the VFR. It slides right into the center stem hole on the triple clamp. You simply remove the plastic cap. They have two length options, I think 3" and 6". I have the 3" version and love it. I have several pictures of the hook up in my photo gallery on the site here, click the Photo Gallery link to the left to see them.

    www.techmounts.com is the source.

    Hi,
thanks for posting this information. I own a Zumo 550 since a while and just bought a 2007 VFR. Your mount is exactly what I am looking for but with all the different types at techmount I am getting confused. Can you tell more exactly which mount it is you used, part number etc.? It would be helpful. Other than that, hi all, I am new to this forum.

Greatly appreciated, that helps a lot. Going to order now... By the way, if anyone is interested: I used the Zumo in Europe and North America, car and motorcycle, and I am very happy with it. Little glitches, a lot of usefull addition (fuel, lodging etc.) and best: it is upgradrable and updateable.
