The fuel line routing and filtering on my 500 appears to be somewhat unconventional - a 2nd filter (metal) has been added after the pump and its input and output fuel line ID's are 1/4" and 5/16" respectively. I think a more conventional approach would be desirable, as illustrated below. I'll place a coarse 90 degree sintered bronze filter before the pump and the stock filter between the pump and carbs. It looks like about 5' of 1/4" Tygon F4040-A is the most practical fuel line although its hard to get excited about the neon yellow color option. Is there any advantage to retaining all of the inline fuel line joiners? I'd also welcome any other thoughts or suggestions. Thanks for following up.
