    It's fucking getting smaller again!

Wheel bearings... toast. Of course. Not surprised by that one.

Steering head bearings... pretty crunchy. Fuck. Not totally surprised, but was hoping that was one of those things that had been done more recently.

Oh well. Those things are not stupid money, nor hard to do. Already bought the steering head bearings for my 95, so those will get used on this.

Good news... brakes felt good when I was pushing it around. Releasing and not dragging, front and rear. Clutch pull still feels perfect.

Vintage Corner in the inner shop with the Mini Bike shelves I built. And... er... some parts storage.

It's a disaster zone right now. Been a project train with not enough "re-group" time devoted.

I was reminded of this little hack over on VFRD. BMW rotor bolt.

Allows you to mount the rotor and not have to notch the wheel for clearance. Oh well... didn't take me too long to machine the wheel, but I won't forget about this again.

I got lucky recently and acquired a Left Exit Full Two Brothers exhaust.

    PXL_20220308_141010276.jpg

Not going on this bike, going in the stash for a future bike. Some surface rust, but no major pitting or dents in the headers. Muffler is not pretty, but might be saveable.

I passed on one of those a few years ago, thought about the agony of dealing with jetting and just the general disturbing of a perfectly operating bike and I lost my appetite.

Jetting won't be hard. And it will be part of a complete build someday, so I won't be disturbing anything.

exactly, different scenario entirely. its all good in the neighborhood, (so-far) anyway, so co-workers got hooked up with some wild boar that another worker shot on a hunt. Thought of you, peace out.

Final configuration with the custom stay bracket. Yeah... that'll work.

    PXL_20220316_023621043.jpg

Muffler is completely rebuilt and was made out of two junk mufflers.

Clearance can be tweaked, but this looks pretty nice.

    PXL_20220316_024013688.jpg

I did an angled squish on the upper bracket for the brake res hose to tuck in as it goes by.

nice work, the first picture you have a what I would guess is a 1/2 drive ratchet with a black socket on it, is that a Honda socket for adjusting the swing arm?

It's for the steering stem nuts.

As suspected, the forks did have aftermarket springs. Straight rate too. They now have stock springs.

    PXL_20220322_030221253.jpg
Need to polish a bit on the tubes where I was knocking off some rust. Lowers are close to ready for a quick shot of paint. Forks caps are now some pretty rough 1994 CBR-F2 caps that I cleaned up and modified to be preload adjustment only (the damping adjustment screws were seized and FUCKED). I took the adjustable VFR caps to use on another bike.

One of my gen3 bikes has the Fox Shock and full Race Tech front end with gold valves etc (this is called "First Wife") My other gen3 bike has a Penske with appropriate spring for me and Traxxion Dynamics fork springs. I ran the preload spacer the same height as First Wife, and I did one more complete TURN IN on both fork legs and I swear it made a difference in the 93s front end feel.
