Thanks for the tip Nozz! As I am a sawed off little F^&%$R, I have to be careful just swingin' the ol' leg over the seat cowl! I was already wondering how many groin pulls I could hope to get from gettin' on and off the machine with these bags mounted and not hittin' 'em, LOL!

BTW went into your photo gallery and checked out your personal bag install photos, it's always nice to look at a few photos to get a real world idea. The bags I'm lookin at at David Silver Spares seem to have some type of black skid protection material on the top of the bag. It looks like this skid pad is close to where you would smack the bag with your boot when performing the gymnastic routine of dismounting over the bag. (And oh, he only got a 6 from the Ukrainian judge.....)

I still haven't heard back from David Silver's yet, I was gonna hit 'em again with a backup email as I didn't give them my paint code in the first one . I figured I wouldn't see anything back until Monday or Tuesday anyway. I sure hope I can get this done next week for the "good guy" price.

Norcal... I'm instep challenged as well, but it's not much of an issue to get your leg up... just act like you are marking your territory each time you mount up.

If you know when the bags are to arrive via a tracking number, ensure you have two cold beer ready... one for during installation, and the other for when you have the job done right... Don't tighten stuff until it is *all* together once and you'll get to the bonus beer much quicker and with less excess stomach acid. :thumb:

I just got an email from David Silver Spares confirming my fears, NO White Panniers Available! Looks like Rick Roush is the winner! $770.00 for the Panniers and $65.00 for the liners.

I'm not terribly concerned with the install, I'm a very patient wrench. There's going to be a lot of lost cash potential if you lose your cool, LOL! I will make sure that I can have a good afternoons worth of time alotted to make sure I take care of the details - like my Dad used to say: There's never time to do it right, but there's always time to do it over"

Thanks once again Nozzle for helping me out with a little Nozzledge, LOL!

You might also want to look at getting the Givi's, pros and cons to each option. If you want, do a search in the forums, I know it has been debated before.
