I had taken about a 15 year break before getting on my VFR back in 2008. All the advise above is great. For me, the thing I learned when I got back on, was to ride my own ride. I've always had a bit of a competitive edge, especially when I (we?) was younger. I don't expect to ever be the fastest guy out there, and at this point of my life, I'm OK with that.
DAMMIT PLISKIN I keep seeing your posts and think to myself when did I post that? (remember I told you Pliskin is the screen name I use everywhere but here). Then I open it and see it's not me. Anyway, you only need to be faster that those has-been, past-peak cougars that drive Lexus RX350's with their bleached hair and fake nails and fat gold earrings. Why do they feel the need to ride my azz at 70mph on back roads? Do they really think that have a chance? Must be the thrill of the case for them. They get wet chasing a guy on a fast bike. Then sit at work all day with a stinky wizards sleeve.
