It looks like you are one of the few that has come out ahead in the Extended Warranty game. Almost all extened warrantys are 2nd party sold through dealerships or even through the manufacturer. They are more like insurance than an actual warranty. The price of an extended warranty is calculated so that the company will come out ahead, not the buyer. If the buyers normally came out ahead, the company would go broke in short order. It all depends on how much risk you are willing to take on yourself, just like any other type of insurance. Consumer groups regularly rate these warrantys as bad investments. But, given your track record, or luck (or lack of it), I can see why you would be tempted. For me, I'll keep my $645.00 in a jar incase of trouble. Then, after 36 months I'll go on a trip.

Get the warrantee. I bought my 05' VFR from a dealer that had used it as a demo bike. Since it was never "sold" to an owner the factory warrantee was still active. I purchase the extended warrantee for an additional 3 years. Well 1 month after the 1 year warrantee expired the R/R failed to the tune of $700. The warrantee was $675... At this point if anything else fails on the bike in the next 2 1/2 years I'm totally covered. Trust me, you never know what's going to happen and one repair could easily out cost the warrantee.

    I would say no.

My VFR is as reliable as the sunrise. Even at the ripe age of 9, it never needs anything other than routine maintenance.

    KC-10 FE out...
