Experienced VFR diagnostic/mechanics needed: EXTREME vibrations coming from???

    I believe Drewl has had the best suggestion so far....I guess we can now rule out tight valves as a cause of serious vibration under load :redface: Vibration is caused by something being out of balance and if it happens under load, I would start with the things associated with putting the power down. You have already eliminated the chain and sprockets from the equation. As Drewl suggested, start by going through the rear bearing carrier and checking that the rear axle is straight. It's easy to do and won't cost you anything to check. I hope that's what it is, because of the potential for it being an internal engine bearing.....

    Sorry about a lack of updates. I have not looked into any further. I have been so wrapped up with track days and other stuff that the VFR has kind of taken a back seat. At some point soon I will start looking into the issue again in hopes of a resolution.
