Engine unused for 10 years, what to do?

    That's a very good point. The sensor thread certainly looks tapered in parts photos, unless they are just stock photos of "a" sensor and not "the" sensor.

    I hope one of my collection of BSP to metric adaptors that I sometimes use for air tools may be of some use if I ever did it. But what I used would depend upon what I was trying to connect into it.

    My bike's engine is running nicely, and I won't be doing this any time soon with a bit of luck.

    I was curious as to the type of tooling that could be used to do it as it seems like such a simple but good idea. I had never heard of it before.

    Rubber adapter made from anything by the hand, and big metal syringe. Or by measuring thread, buy or use old sensor. As I own workshop, anything I need I make on lathe or buy in shop. Newer do anything without measuring, newer.

    spinning the engine over with plugs removed will also prelube everything.
