I believe Don has some experience with Australian VFR's. Since the ECU programming varies somewhat from country to country I would give him all the information you have on the mods you are making and The fuel used. He will be able to install a good map for your application. Would also suggest using K&N filter or removing the sneeze screen from the stock air filter.

When you decat the pipe make sure you have a properly designed 2/1 merge collector installed (not just 2 pipes cut and tacked together).

Thankyou for the replys. I will do the exhaust as suggested DJ.

Have any of you looked at the Bazzaz map http://www.bazzaz.net/index.php/maps-research-database. That AF is so far out (lean) in the area we ride at most of the time it is unbelievable bad. Why would Honda do that??

A bit of trivia, I had a Sprint 1050 (now stolen) had a hand built exhaust fabricated with cat removed and used a free program called TuneEcu to tidy up fuel map and ignition curve. Result, from approximately 250ks (150mph) to hitting the rev limiter in top gear at indicated 295ks. So made a big difference.
Can't wait for the VFR decat and tune. Cheers :smug:

I had Don Guhl do his magic over the winter. I decatted my exaust, piped and k/n filter. This with the reflash really made a difference. The motor feels like it's been woken up. Much smoother and more powerful. I'm very happy with the change. Haven't had a chance to run it wide open yet, but that report will happen later.

I have not been on the site for some time due to a serious health problem. Good to see others benefit from (exhaust mods & ECU mods from Don). I was going to run my VFR at a timed closed course top speed event this year in Ohio but that may or may not happen now. Motorn if you have any of these officially timed events available you will get a true top speed. I know my indicated speed on the dyno is over 6 mph high at over 150 MPH. An alternative is a good GPS readout which I would trust more than the Honda speedo. Good luck and glad you are satisfied with Don's work.
