Dyno Disappointment

    The red dashed line is the target AFR, 13.2:1. As you can see, the target was met, across the power band from about 5000 to 10,000, except for the 6000-7600 rpm range, where it drops to 13.0:1 at 6200 and then shoots up to almost 14:1 at 6800 and then settles back down to the target 13.2:1 by 7600.

    But, the HP curve itself looks pretty good. There is no dramatic drop or anything. So it looks like they may have improved it slightly over stock. Really the only way to tell is a before and after run at all the different throttle positions and also if it feels better while riding.

    The engine definately pulls much smoother through the powerband. No more flattening of power just prior to VTEC kicking in, buttery transition.

    The tweaks to the AFR at the VTEC engagement point is exactly what makes the power curve smooth. My dynotuner did exactly the same thing. It eliminates the flat spot entirely.
