Back in the 90's, almost every dunlop that I ever had showed cupping, on two different bikes. Not a fan. If it works for you, then coolio julio!
My Dunlop RoadSmart tyres are holding up nicely and I have no cuppping issues with the front tire. I have used the RoadSmarts on my 2K VFR for 1 1/2 winter seasons and 1 summer season and I still love the them. I have a Yamaha YZF 600 that I put the Avon Storm ST tyres on. They are ok on that bike because the tire profile is not as flat as the Dunlop so it is not as much work leaning the bike into a turn, but the Avon Storm ST tires do not warm up as quickly as the Dunlop RoadSmarts and the Dunlops give better feedback from the front. Since I will be using the Yamaha for track days this season I may get some Pirelli Corsa tires.
I have always replaced tires on my bikes on two rear to one front ratio, I therefore mounted a Dunlop qulifier on the front and a roadsmart on the rear in the hopes of having the roadsmart lasting as long as athe Qualifier and replace both at the same time. So far so good, the Roadsmart looks like it has half of its life still ahead at 4800 miles. Aside from a little flat spot in the centre most certainly due to living in south Florida where roads are flatter than a month old open can of soda, best tire combo so far.
