lol yeah i got the memo, but i was hoping that the drag racing title would filter through that.
i did talk to a few guys running in the 8s with zx14s and hyabusas. they were saying that some bikes with the hydraulic clutches are just a bitch to modulate the clutch on high rpm launches.
also talked to a guy with a vtr 1000. he said his is the same way.
and i am going to pull apart the clutch, AFTER , i need my next oil change... lol
in the mean time im just gonna work on my technique...

    but thank you

    oh okay ive gotcha.
ive played with the couple different settings on the factory levers, and they made no noticeable difference. i dont know if maybe they would on aftermarket levers....

im familiar with tie downs, a few guys had them. it seems like a cool idea. maybe further down the road when i figure out how to launch higher and smoother, but at this point theyre not necessary.
i do like the idea of adding preload to the back, but im sure these things will take away from traction and weight transfer to the back, i was one of the only guys actually coming up on the back wheel and not spinning up off the line.

but i think it would be fun to experiment with these.

as far as shifting, im pretty hard on my bike, but thats just brutal lol.
i just do clutchless upshifts with a slight roll off of the throttle while shifting. ive been working on that for years and am pretty good at that and i think its probably just as effective.

Okay guys problem solved. Basically the teeth on the friction plates have become razor sharp over time. Yesterday I pulled the clutch apart inspected everything, and spent a solid 10 hours sanding out all the sharp edges on the steel plates and friction plate's teeth that slide back in forth in the inner and outer clutch housings. It appeared the housings themselves had a little wear as well, but not significant. I am going to go ahead and polish those out as well during the next oil change. Next time i will be doing this with a dremel and proper attachment. I might go ahead and start with a fresh set of oem friction plates.

On a side note as of last Friday I have gotten my 1/4 mile times down to 11.457 @ 119.55 mph. (still launching at 2-3 thousand rpms).
Also in regards to the Barnett clutch springs, I haven't noticed shit. They were a little bigger and prettier, but that's about it. No added clutch lever pressure or anything.
I am not sure if swapping out the clutch springs had any effect, what so ever....

Launching at 3 grand doesn't really need straps lol, we'll see next time though. I'm sure I'm gonna be fighting wheelies launching at 6000 now.

Thanks for the update. I dont know if I'll ever get this bike to the drag strip, but if I ever start having problems launching this thing I'll know what to look for!
