Do you change your riding habbits when around other riders?

i got caught speeding into town, then speeding into another zone, then after the lights went down a one way the other way to a parking lot. i explained that i had been working all day and just trying to get home to my wife. i hadent even realized i was speeding. he let me off rather than taking my license right there.
