After careful consideration, I have decided that I no longer like any VFR's, regardless of the generation. They are too hard to wheelie.

I like all VFRs. I don't like all VFR owners, though.

As a matter of fact, a couple of the ones that irritate me most are posting in this thread. I believe that I can get all the information I need elsewhere,. Lamps to Carmine and some others here, but there are a few very vocal guys here that are not real motorcyclists - they are snobs who ride motorcycles. No Lamps to them.

Please do not even bother responding to me, because I am gone.

Hey! Motorcycle sex! Gotta love that! Someone pulling a wheelie on a VFR while too close to another VFR in front. Does this sound familiar?:ncb:

I have had my suspicions about the intent of this thread from the git go, but, I thought I'd bump this thread a bit to show just how divided we truly are around here.....

hi, a special lamp to Alaskan. It's true that some guys seem to be as snobs riding a bike. But this can not decrease the true passion for our VFR and for the world of values that I really found in this site. Everywhere there are people we do not like but the human race is so...If you want...go elsewhere to get information you need but I (and many other guys) will remain your friend. Also only one thinking brain is important to fight stupidity. And I feel you are a thinking brain. I use to say : you can not chose your family members and your colleagues, but you can chose your friends. Well, I hope that my english is good enough to explain what I feel.
Lamps to all VFR owners !!!

    LOL, exactly....

It should look like this, just kidding. I mean what's the off chance you'd have a casual meeting where all models showed up. I didn't plan this even thou it looks like it was. Sorry I wasn't able to have a 1st 2nd and 3rd gen just pop in, that would have been cool.

The difference is they get better mileage than a car.

It was my son who had the VF bug. I bought a wrecked second gen because it was cheap and I was betting that I could fix it. I figured that I could lower my carbon footprint by about half of what it was whenever driving my car. So I don't know the difference between one Gen and another except what I saw of my son's 1st gen 500. They are all oil/gasoline savers to me, regardless of generation. My 2nd gen's speedo goes to 175 mph. That scares the piss out me, but I doubt I'll see much over 105 to 110 mph, and that for only brief moments at that. Thats what I used do on my Triumph and the Kawasaki 500 I drove when I was younger. What do I need that much power for anyway? To move my fat ass away from the cars struggling through the streets they clog? As far as I'm concerned that's justification enough to have purchased an old motorcycle. It's justification to keep all old motorcycles out of the junkyards and on the roads. I'm not looking for an extended talk with the local highway patrol officer or the local judge. It's my hope that I can get 50+ mpg out of it. If I can't I'll probably sell it and try to get something that can. As for what somebody else thinks I have a three word reply.

Nice, I've quite liked that picture when it pops up on "Featured Photo", it seems to highlight the Gen differences yet somehow leaving each models unique charm and beauty intact...

Damn! I keep a low profile for sometime and look what happens!

The only thing I've noticed was a while back we had alot of new 6gen owners join VFRworld and they all posted various threads, but I never felt "snubbed" because I have a 4th gen.

Or maybe I'm just dense and didn't know they were snubbing me!

No two ways about it, this is one of the best photos on this website. :thumb: Especially since the 5th Gen is yellow. 3 things would have made this photo perfect, install the seat cowl on the 4th, put a hi mount pipe on the 5th to make all 3 look symetrical & take the luggage rack off the 5th. Other than that, this photo should be featured in an official Honda publication of sorts. Even the shadows line up. I wish I had photo skills like this.

Divided? Try being from NJ & riding a sport bike. That will show you the meaning of divided. I think the only way the people around here could hate sport bikes more would be in the middle of Daytona during bike week.

    KC-10 FE out...

Yes we are divided but we've brought it on our self's

The main reason I don't get into the 6g discussions on this forum is because I've always tried to put myself in the shoe's of a new 6g VFR owner, It can't feel good for a new VFR owner who after spending their hard earned money on a new VFR and then finding a Internet forum dedicated to their new bike and reading that the bike is a POS, I know it would piss me off and I'll never understand why people feel the need too slam bikes that are different than theirs, It's just a different breed of a VFR but a VFR none the less, just my .02

You know, my 6th Gen is my first and quite frankly other than a spin on my brother's 850 Norton Commando back in the early 70's, I have never ridden anything else. I really must try one or if I can all the earlier gens to see just what this is all about. Who knows? I may find myself agreeing with some of the points of view.

Here, photoshop this in, my '85 VF500F with aftermarket fairing lowers.
I bought it this year and love it. I ride mid size bikes 'cuz I love the handling. Only 1 outside row of "nubs" left to go on the new front tire.
I also ride a 1st gen. because it fits my budget. Period. Yeah, I'd like to have a much newer one, but I go ridin' instead of daydreaming. To each their own. All anyone needs to ride with me is 2 wheels and a plate. Isn't that the way its supposed to be?

what my local 'on'da dealer said about gen 6

I know nothing about the great differences between 6 and 5 etc. But I had to get some information off teh microfisch at my local 'on'da dealer last week and I waltzed around the show room and asked my ususal stupid questions and I finally blurted out, "where are the VFR's". Per SOP a sales person had glommed onto me, (just to keep me from toppling over a bike I suppose), and this was his explanation:
    paraphrasing:

"V 4's are good (fast) at the low end, but they loose out at the high end. We don't order them anymore, the inline fours are faster ( sell faster?). I thought to myself, "prove it!" as I walked out the door.

Does any of this BS have anything to do with the argument between 5th and 6th er's?
