Wow, I wasn't expecting so much love for the red pin stripes. Thanks for the input.

flash- It looks bad because it was my first time I've tried pin striping. Im just experimenting before I paint the whole thing.

Mods are: CBR Rear F-3 wheel, re-welded brake caliper holder. Shaved reaction rod. CBR Front F-2 wheel. I think the forks are CBR, and the upper triple is from a 94 VFR. Ill have to double check on that. I bought it like this, btw.

For experimental pinstriping using vinyl tape. It is less costly to use regular masking tape to create or define a line. The masking tape is easily removable and adheres to wax of the natural and polymer types.

I would not advise using any type tape over that plastic dipp stuff that is really for the handles of oyster forks and South of the border socket sets.

Once the line or design is established. The better choice of the vinyl "striping" tape is by 3M. All wax should be removed prior to application of the vinyl tape to insure adhesion.

Best done in both apps when nice and warm to allow for curves without wrinkles and again adhesion.

Crossed lines and butt joints can be double cut for neatness. See any Utube vid for doublecutting under wall covering or paperhanging.

Nice neat 90 degree end cuts can be accomplished by lining up a single edge razor blade and pulling the tape end across the angle of the blade.

Real pinstriping is a whole different thing.

No, I am not kin to Von Dutch or Ed Roth.
