Yeah, I thought he had some valid points and I would be lying if I said I did not do some of them. I respect cops, however, we all do speed here and there...I try to limit my excessive speeding to non-residental areas. Hell, there is a nice backroad that I used to almost top my FZR1000 out on. I stopped doing it because I want to live, but it was an empty desert road thru waste land. It would just be me wasting my own life and maybe a tumbleweed or jackrabbit if I was unlucky enough...and nobody else's. I don't condone running from the cops, but if you are far enough away I would probably try and make a few turns and make it harder for him to find me....hide for a bit as well. I would not be racing thru traffic and endangering others in the process though. The main thing I think of is that I have a I have a right to endanger my own life, but not the life of innocent bystanders by driving recklessly. I am actually pretty good about obeying traffic laws with regards to stopsigns, stoplights, using turn signals....I, like most of us, just like to travel a tad over the speed limit.

I think that many of us would be lying if we said we did not slow down where we knew cops set up speedtraps at....running from the police is another story though. Bad karma there...

KARMA! Did someone (DerStuka) say KARMA? OK, I AM IN!!!
I was going to sit this one out 'cause I was laughing so much from the original post as well as all of the other posts (and Stuka's pictures of course) but I just have to add my 2 cents...
This thread reminded me of that old Walter Matthau movie "How to Cheat on your Wife" that has all the questionable advice from a philandering husband about how to avoid being caught. (Ooh, BAD KARMA!!) I love how you guys climbed up his head and did a little dance. I guess the only thing I can add that is not just more attempts at humor is to remind everyone just how many unmarked LEO cars there are out there that are looking for reckless cagers and riders. I cannot get over how many there are in my town, how clever they are (the cars are not only boring sedans w/ regular plates, they are station wagons and vans too), how well-hidden the lights are, etc. I assume that almost every car is an under-cover car. That way I don't get caught.

Remember, Buddha is ALWAYS watching...your Karma will catch up to you...

short hijack-Stuka mentioned his FZR. A poll on an FZR forum today showed several people would trade in their Fizzers for a Viffer.

Joey_Duke (duke aka. pile of crap). You're such a punk. I have a group of younger chumps that live on my street too that think they're cool, like you of course, and haul ass up and down my street. Well, I happen to have an 8 year old daughter and their behavior was just an accident waiting to happen. So I kindly asked them to grow the F*** up and calm the f*** down a couple times, but to no avail. So the next time one of the little punks pulled that SH** I walked out into the street, gestured to talk to him, he stopped, put his stand down, then I yanked him off his bike. He thought he was a bad ass, I offered to beat his ass down, then he decided otherwise. Then I kindly walked him down the street to his house, called the police, and had a nice little talk with his dad, and till this day things have been well. But if it happens again, I'll have no problem spike stripping his dumb ass next time.

I mention this only because if you don't accidentally kill someone being a total squid; maybe someone will not have any respect for you either and take matters into their own hands.

    Time to grow up.

Thanks for the comment. With the red light running they split hairs and gave me a ticket for running a red light when the red was on for .24 seconds. Yes Point Two Four seconds. I can blink my eye faster than that. I was like, "That is fucking bullshit" I can understand a ticket if the light had been red for a solid second but less than half a second gimme a break!

Oh, and yes I do haul ass on clear roads. Those 45 mph streets I was talking about are literally country roads with no intersections for miles. I can go 45 in my sleep there.

JOEY! To use your bike riding analogy, for this thread now, it is time to decide if you should "hide out in someone's yard" or step up to the Judge's bench and argue for all your worth because this court here seems to have it out for you. You will need to argue alot more to convince these guys...or, just run and hide and wait for it to blow over.

Me? I am betting this one goes 250 posts easy! Yee haa!!!

Dude, Joey, im just pumped you came back. I wont lie, last summer I was caught by a group of guys on 195 West in mass, speed limit 65, they were doing about 140 and I joined them cause well, sometimes im a total squid. I cant help it. Im like 25 going on 16 from time to time. I try my hardest though and I am getting better. We were all there dude. If anyone here claims to have been born mature, they are full of it.

I am glad that the roads you were crankin on were out in the middle of nowhere, I can respect that. Any I am glad to hear you didnt just blatantly run red lights. I make it a policy now to stop for oranges, just cause i am wicked worried that someone is going to smoke me running a red one of these days. Just be careful bro, i know I would be in bad shape if my hurried mistake cost someone else dearly.

Anyhow, I am definitely in favor of you still talking and contributing man. Otherwise I feel like I am the only guy around here who gives in to the inner squid at times. Take what these guys say to heart though, a lot of them have been riding as long as I have been alive. And since I plan on riding for the rest of my years, I listen up and am trying to learn from them on how to make that happen.

Hey bright eyes. You are required to stop for yellow lights. Read the book. You cannot enter an intersection on a red. Again, read the book. I am surprised that such and intelligent man has not already

Ha ha ha, I wouldn't be surprised. All I really wanted to do is share what I've learned on dealing with cops and see if anyone had any good tips as well. I don't really care about convincing this body of "judges" on my stance so I'm gonna hide out and watch the debate unfold.

    Dealing with Morons....

    How to deal with Morons...

"Just so you know I speed just about every day and not just a little over mind you it's more like 20 or more over....."

You know what they call that? Luck. It will run out.

"Hauling ass in school zones is a BIG no-no because not only are you endangering children you're going to be an easy target for cops because they like to set up speed traps there......." [

B]So running radar in a SCHOOL ZONE to slow people down for the safety fo the children is a SPEED TRAP????[/B]

"Same for night-time. You can almost think of cops as cockroaches because they all come out at night......"

    LOL who's the cockroach here?

"On highways be a good boy when you see a bridge up ahead. Cops love to hide there and by the time you see them it's too late. Same for construction zones. Those workers are risking their lives to build roads for us and they at least deserve our careful attention and cautious driving......."

Make note of his concern for construction workers, but school zones are a speed trap.

"Because of this if you want to run make sure to HAUL ASS. Redline the bike at every gear. This is not the time to baby your bike. That, and make as many LEFT turns as you possibly can........"

So now we don't care about all those construction workers, police, innocent and other people you might endanger?

As for when the cop pulls you over and assuming that you did not run GIVE THEM THE SILENT TREATMENT........

While I can't speak for other police officers, this would be a gaurenteed ticked.

The police officers have a dangerous job and you don't need to put them in any more danger by pulling over dangerously close to traffic........

Wait now we care again? I'm confused. Running from the police is one of the most dangerous things you can do, but now you care about where you pull over for the safety of the officer???

For extra insurance I recommend buying a blue line sticker from http://thegeorgiaspeedingticketkille.........._

LOL, that's great. I wonder how much money that guys makes selling these "secret stickers"? If I saw that all I would end up doing is asking more questions, that you won't have the answer to. Again, a sure thing ticket.

Now, even with all those advantages you might run into a jerk and still gives you a speeding ticket........

    Guess I'm a jerk. :)

You: Your honor, may I see the certificate of the radar gun?

Me: Sure, it's right here. Along with my training certificate.

    You: Crap

You: Your honor, does the certificate serial number match the one on the speeding ticket?

    Me: Why yes it does.

Judge: I find you guilty, please pay the fine on your way out.

And those are the things I've learned in dealing with morons. I hope it all helps in some way.

If anyone gets a red light ticket keep this in mind. In order for them (in Ca.) to have a camera in place cal trans has to do a road survey. Within that survey they have to record the average speed of the flow of traffic. Per that flow of traffic the yellow light has to stay on for ___ # of seconds. So if you get the ticket, then get the cal trans report for that site (public record), find the amount of seconds that it states and time the light yourself. The one local here is off and if anyone goes in with this knowledge to fight it, it get thrown out. Not sure if they fixed it yet but is a bit of a trap. Good luck and watch for the tapping of the heads!!:decision:

    Hey VFRstar.

Where's you manners. He is not a moron. He is our client. Kinda like pea soup mind you but none the less, a client. At least that is what they expect us to call them up here. The new warm and fuzzy way to speak of such minded people.

And you know, if they get away...... well hooooooleeeeeey shit! You still get paid on Friday and the beer is still cold Sunday. And don't forget....he pays you wages. Now doesn't that just frost the ole' arshole. Getting paid by someone that you are issuing a ticket to. There is a God and He is a Traffic man.

Keep it safe Bud.:whoo: :target: :laser:

Now THAT borders on the ridiculous! Customer maybe, on an occasional day, but client? As Lloyd Bridges said in "Airplane", "I picked a bad day to give up drinking!"

You are 300% right on that but this is the way they expect the police to refer to EVERYONE here in politically correct Canada. Lawyers are clients, witnesses and judges are clients. Assholes and their victims are both called clients. But be F*&%$ed if I placed the bad guy on the same level as a victim. Bad guys are bad guys and victims are just that. They deserve our support. They need our support. And F*&% the bad guy. :blah: :blah: :blah:
