the right rear turn signal won't light up off the harness.

the left Will, if I plug the right light into hte left harness, it lights. the plot thickens.

If one light is brighter than the other, the dimmer one is finding it's ground through another light or device.

I'd start be checking every ground you can find (now would be a good time to refer to the factory service manual wiring diagrams).

Pay extra attention to any grounds that terminate on the aluminum frame or engine cases due to corrosion between dis-similar metals (steel ground wire connector mounted to aluminum can lead to excessive corrosion).
