We have waffled on it a bit. I think the last time we all discussed it, the main thing holding us back was that occasionally we get members who thought we were gone that come back and then there acct is still active and that makes them happy. Granted it doesn't happen often, but then the member count padding helps us with advertisers probably. If we start purging accounts, what's next? Censorship? Requiring blood sample verification? W2s? Birth certs?

We'll toss it around again and let you guys know if we change it about. The accounts don't take up much space, though so it'll just be a pruning thing more than anything.

Really I was more or less kidding about the name thing. Afetr all, having numbers in mine has kept me anonymous....kinda. But would having all those inactive accoounts, and long dead posts, slow or bog down this site? I guess it would be quite a chore to go through this and delete old stuff wouldn't it. Maybe Michael needs a Trash Collector Moderator to help out so he is not stuck with this.

actually, it's not much work at all. it's just that once we purge, they don't come back. a lot of the stuff michael has kept has been on the internet on on iteration of vfrworld or hondavfr.com or texasvfr garage for a long long time. we try to prune it from time to time. the message and users are easy for us to purge, the links get to be a little more difficult because as far as I know one of us has to manually check them, and m has to go in and edit the html files that have the links in them.

So basically, unless someone is going in and intentionally searching for the old stuff, it has not affect on the performance of the site? Other than of course using up my very valuable name.

Actually some of us with low post counts that have less valuable names are actually valuable. I personally read this board at least twice a day sometimes more. I post only when I have something constructive and useful to say...As opposed to this post....LMAO.....

Apropos of absolutely nothing, did anyone else ever notice that "Dicks" Sporting Goods stores are usually right next to "BJs" Wholesale Club stores? Coincidence? I think not!

Jeez, I wish there was a Hooters in the shopping mecca closest to me! Great food, delivered by hot chicks, and there's always a couple games on the tubes. Can't go wrong.

34468 said: I mean my name is who I am. If I can't use it, no one would know who I am. I have had to resort to being part number....like a statistic...or a bike part.

Hey, you think that's bad, I had to move to Alabama so that my username would be right!

    Private lessons? Sure..

What ya got there is 152 anagrams of MrMonsterCock. I figured it was a good thing to know since so many on this site are similary blessed and the need for screen names seems to be a problem.

I think the term MrMonsterCock is demeaning. I refer to mine as JumboJohnson. I think it has a nice ring to it.
