Always good to have some baling wire handy especially if one has a Harley.

Just installed black throttlemeister large. I had the action down within my first ride with one hand. I did all my homework on the brake away and was set to buy that unit. Brake away does not build a unit for the new vfr.
The black throttlemeister looks fantastic....and there are a bunch of you tube videos to help you with one hand setting.

do you have any more or less vibrations in the bars?

have you added any customs bits to the bars (like heli risers, foam pads, aftermarket grips, ect.)
    thank you.

    cheers

Too soon to tell. Only ride 6 km home after install.
Nothing else added to the bike. Ill ride at higher speeds and advise about vibration.
Just purchased the Kriega us 30. Looks cool on the tail. Just picked up Scala g 9.
Both fantastic products. Have altered the bars?

Thanks for all the great responses! I saw the GoCruise on ebay a while back....it's good to know some of you are using it with a little modification to get the right throttle grip pressure.

I did use the rubber filler ring that came with the kit on the VistaCruise, but it still wasn't thick enoough no matter how i installed it or how much i tightened the little allen setscrews. The thing is, even if it did work, it really takes up too much grip space, and even with my "not large" hands, it was uncomfortable to grip the throttle. After all, i will be spending 98% of my time gripping the throttle, and only 2% of the time in cruise control mode so it has to be comfortable to grip for me. Having said that, even if it did work (which it didn't), i still would have removed it.

@dudeonit: Did you have to modify the grip at all to install the BrakeAway? it looks like you might have trimmed the grip a little to get it installed correctly....

I will update when i get another wild idea about cruise controls in my head....

It's this model: BrakeAway Motorcycle Cruise Control - Application Guide 6CB03

You only have to fab a bracket from the OEM brake lever mounting bolt to the L-Bracket on the unit to clear the throttle cables. I had this unit on my 04 and a chain master link worked great. On this bike I have a piece of aluminum bracket that I fab'd up since the distance is increased.

    No modifications needed beyond that.

I also installed one on my VTX1800F.

I love the no-brainer approach to this throttle lock. Either press the release or tap the front brake lever.

Did you modify anything on the bike in order to fit the brakeaway?
I was told twice by head office that their unit will touch the gas tank when the bars are all the way over.
Head office told me they did not have a unit that would work on the bike.

No. Just the bracket I mentioned earlier. Nothing touches.
