Very little clutch action is needed, in fact this is a case once moving, a little is better. LOL depends what mood I'm in, yea 4-9 works just fine. One of the great things about a VFR, in fact on flat ground lazy traffic 2-3 works. can't help ya with the other questions, I don't have a 5th gen. but do know the stock screen for me is better than the DB.

    Thanks 'Stuka...
Here in Australia we give a nod, usually. But unfortunately there are a lot of poseur bikers who are too stuck up to acknowledge anyone. They obviously don't have any experience of the times when a rider would pull over to check on another rider who was stopped on the side of the road.

Joey, you look like Dracula in that pic, haha... Looks like you have got a couple of pretty necks to sink your teeth into.

Are the Gen6 rims swappable onto my bike? I really want a silver rear wheel, or at least something not black.

Yup - 5th gen and 6th gen wheel are interchangeable. I wouldnt mine silver wheels myself. Cost no object I would buy the wheels in this thread...

Damn, it's a pity you don't live in Australia, because I have got a silver 6th Gen rear for sale. And it's in absolutely perfect condition to..., removed from my '05 model when I put a gold 8 spoke on.

    1) I very rarely look at my tach when shifting, I go primarily by sound & feel.

    2) Use the clutch, that's what it's there for. Unless you're on a racetrack, the miliseconds you're going to save are pittance compared with the $1000 it will cost to fix your transmission.

    3) The ZG Double Bubble I have has significantly less buffeting than the stock or a 2" higher sport touring screen that I've used. See post #17 below.

    KC-10 FE out...

pretty sure they do. they always have AFAIK. It's easy enough to check them once you get them, though. I think a disc style gap tool is like $0.50 at Kragen.

I talked to my local shop about getting a new key. If you have your key number (on the little metal rectangle that came with the keys) they can cut you a new key on the spot for $5. If not, the only suggestion she had was a lock smith. She was not aware of any other way to get the key number. So a little info to everyone who doesn’t have their key number, make sure you have a spare key or two.
