Coolest Song of all time ?

All good mate. Free bird is one of my favorate songs gotta love it. 5 mins of song and 5 mins of classic guitar solo.

 

This thread could ramble on and on and.......

Maybe segment it by decades, favourite 50s, 60s, 70s, and so on.

As for me, since we're talking good guitar music, amongst the many out there...

Eagles - Hotel California always gets me.

 

I notice at least one disparaging remark about Laurence Welk. This may be because in many cases some of our revered grandmothers were secretly lusting after his body.

 

Led Zeppelin seems to be a re-occuring vote, had The Yardbirds with Jimmy Page doing " Heart full of Soul " in my top 5 Cool songs choices although torn between it and the previous version with Jeff Beck both are

BZ was wondering where you got to thought you might have some suggestions, love the Ramones, DK's etc and recently dug up some old Cramps stuff but was wondering what peoples vote of Coolest songs of all time rather than their best or favourite which is kinda why my Coolest seem stuck mostly in the coolest decade the '60s or maybe its just my young childhood memories coming through after my father digging up his original pressing BT Green Onions LP the other day.

What the hay list your top 5, remember not necessarily your favourite bands/songs but what you think the coolest ones are.

Probably would have added MC Hammers " U can't Touch this " in a cool list but would never list it as a favourite.

Guess Coolest means different things to different folks, take the DKs for example think the best DK song is the serious and tight " Holiday in Cambodia " or maybe the Political " California Uber Alles " with its 1984 reference and slow to fast build up but think the coolest with its '60s Batman like riff the clown song " To Drunk to F*ck " or perhaps their take on a western " Raw Hide " . :biggrin:

 

I also like the theme song from teh Partridge Family too.
