No, 2,000 per tire. The original Metzlers lasted 3,000 miles and I went through two and a half sets of Diablo Stradas before switching to the Conti RA's yesterday (I switched because we're going to Deals Gap next week and I wanted some fresh rubber). The bike is about a year and a half old and has just over 7,400 miles. Honestly, I've owned something like 15 different bikes and I've never gotten such lousy tire mileage. But, I commute about 10 miles to work on curvy mountain roads--and the VFR is heavy and strong--all of this combines to eat tires.
