Yes the only real difference in the rear tail light from 02-05 vs 06+ is the sockets for the bulbs. I have an '02 and started dremel'ing away at a new clear tail to fit the OEM bulb housings, but I think I may bite the bullet and buy 06+ bulb housings for an easier and cleaner install.

Front signal lenses are easy, just buy clear ones and once you have your 02-05 OEM units out you will see that the rear plastic backing can just unclip and pop off. Put this on the new signal lens, and your old bulb housings will mount in properly, no cost, 5 mins work.

MUCH easier and cleaner on the front.

I have gone through the process... the reality is that the 02-05 VFR has different rear turn signal bulb sockets than the 06+. The taillight unit itself is the same in terms of size, shape, mounting points - but your 02-05 turn signal sockets will NOT simply mount in. The brake light and running light will, with no modification.

If you buy a clear rear taillight, you will have to either buy the 06+ sockets from Honda (and do some wiring), or use the old "put the lens in an oven to soften the glue and then remove the black backing plate that the sockets go into - and swap with the 02-05 backing plate". <--exactly the same as we do with the front clear lenses when added to an 02-05.

I ordered a used 06 taillight online, it actually came with the turn signal sockets still in it (win!), so I wired them to the existing wiring. Fairly easy.

If you search VFRD you will find my thread with full pics and details.

Personally I don't think the clears are that visible. Had a big truck turn in front of me when I was already in the intersection.

That is the exact unit I have on my 2002. Remember the turn signal sockets from your 02 will NOT plug into this unit.
