It is OEM. The bikes in UK (and rest of Europe?) all came this way AFAIK. The bikes have the VF500F2 designation. We never got the North American version with the top fairing and the belly pan.

    OK till you drop it...

I finally got round to importing my bike to Ireland from the UK. This involved riding it a bit. I was a bit dissapointed with the top end which seemed to be about 100mph on the clock. Most on here seem to report more than this? I'm quite tall so the aerodynamics are not great. Anyway the engine seemed to spin very easily on the starter so I suspected low compression. I measured it tonight and I got

Cylinder 1; 130 psi (rear LHS)
Cylinder 2; 150 psi (front LHS)
Cylinder 3; 135 psi (rear RHS)
Cylinder 4; 150 psi (front RHS)

This was a stone cold engine and wide open throttle. I know you are supposed to do it warm but there seemed too many pingfuckits to worry about getting access to the plugs, especially as I haven't worked on the bike before. My manual says 142-199 psi, so assuming they mean warm I'm probably at the bottom end of the range (they do mean warm, page 9-19).

Anyone else done this? Are my values typical? Not that I'm too worried. Bike rides fine, just a bit slower than I expected.
