    Foot Down, Not Stopping

I normally stop and put the left foot down to satisfy any zealous local constabulary who might happen to be watching. But I found myself putting one foot down while still coasting through a stop today. It was not pre-meditated. The bike rolled through with the left leg making a step/stride. Quite comfortable actually.

Putting the foot down does not constitute a stop.

To help a little, hold the rear brake firm, constant throttle (low rpms) and clutch slipping = added time

I've done it for two or three seconds when I'm "in the zone", so to speak, making a complete (if still illegal) stop. Only on side streets, though. If there's traffic or any likelihood of the popos I put the left foot down to satisfy law & etiquette.

I drop the bike into neutral rolling up to the light, use my left foot to lower the kick stand and can balance for a long time at the light. :thumb:

Rocking back off the stand to get it up and quickly slipping back into first and start rolling before I put a foot down is the hard part. I have yet to do this successfully, but have won a beer in a "no foot down" balance challenge.
