    Update:

Well alots happened; I'm outta money and time and the Ninja ain't on the road yet LOL!

But mucho progress has been made.

She runs and I've taken her for a spin. Pretty cool bike and when I have more time I'll tell the rest of the story. Here it is mostly together.

And I also found the Ninja's lower fairing stay not only holds the farings on but removes unwanted skin on your hand!

Every Kawasaki owner gets scraped knuckles, it's the difficult nature of working on them.

    love to see them!!!

Really awesome bikes...Its surprising how they have stuck to a non-hydraulic clutch over the years..their motors haven't changed much it appears, very simple but gobs of power...

Actually the Ninja 900 was one of the bikes that led to the VFR's losing it's status as a sport bike...and pushed it to sport touring status...This is an actual fact. It was light a lot less expensive and faster than the ZX10! which was the top of the food chain back in the day!!!

    Regards

Heck no, that's my dumbass dog "Tiki'.

She's half chocolate lab and half weiner dog. If you go to my introduction thread you'll see her standing behind the 93 VFR I used to own.

Finally...its done enough to ride. Fun bike for its age. The brakes suck, the suspension sucks but the engine is pretty impressive for being 27 years old.

If you want an old bike to fix up, you have the time and cash; unlike the earlery VFR's they still make parts for these Ninjas. Hard to get parts AND ebay is loaded with items too. Its nice to finally have a street bike again. Here it is:

I remember the GPZ 900 spelled the end of the VFR as a sport bike. The VFR then became known as a sport touring bike as a result. it could'nt compete with the ZX9 power and price.....

That bike was really a rocket in it's day. Does anyone rember the H1 and H2 widowmakers?

    Good work!

A guy I worked with back in the day had a new red one just like that. I remember it loping as it idled. That bike both scared me and fascinated me at the same time. I told the guy back then that I wanted an interceptor 700. He told me Honda was crap and the cam lobes fell off of those bikes. Don't get one. I didn't believe him at the time. Turns out he was right about the bad lobes. Ha!
