Those threads would have to be chased. The fault IMO lies with the person who was having the work done rather than the powdercoater. Homework does not end in middle school and a well run shop will have somebody there who can answer questions. You also have many choices in powdercoating. Ask the dude to show you some example and if he flakes, bail.

I think that some folks are used to eating at McDonalds and expect things to be done in a certain way. That would be great but it just ain't so. Did ya know that at the McDonalds in Vienna, Austria they serve beer, and the Big Macs are metric..

A flaking powdercoater is a definite sign of work to come

Best IMO to look carefully. It might just be dandruff or a crusty scalp.

If a powdercoater doesnt have the common sense to plug threaded holes, he/she is a dumbass, im sorry, thats powdercoating 101.

A customer cant be expected to keep silicone plugs on hand, whereas, a powdercoater should have thousands of them on hand in various sizes. Every one that ive dealt with has anyway

I have the heli bars - rode a 6th gen w/ stock... Now going to get a set of clip ons.

The 6th gen likes to be on the front end... the stock bars are better then the heli bars for pipping it up, so the clip ons should be even better...

got a pic of the BB bars?? the clip ons I'm going for are 130 a set, are the stock BB used any cheaper?

Im not sure what the BB bars sell for (a friend gave me his) I would imagine you can get them fairly cheap because the BB guys pay top dollar for the vfr bars.

Heres a picture of what i have, BB bar with a 3/4" riser. With the bar and riser together, it looks like they will be about 1/2" lower than the stock vfr bar, and about 1 1/4" lower without the riser.

Im going to try without the riser first, and if its too much, ill add the riser and see how that works

Also, it looks like the orientation will be slightly different because the stop is in a different place in relation to the centerline of the fork tube hole.
Im looking forward to seeing how these work because 99% of my riding is on the twisties of east TN/NC

These bars wont fit my bike. My fork tubes are too small and the stoppers are in a completely different location.

Apparently the newer vfr's have larger diameter tubes and the stopper tits are in a different location?
