Rubo - I really think your chasing a non-problem here. Try the full choke start first before you tear into it.

    Good luck,

I actually did just that and same results.Either way changing 11 yr old fuel filter would not hurt.
I read that if fuel filter is clogged then fuel pump must work harder and that part breaks as well.I checked parts prices. Fuel filter 42+shipping and fuel pump 250+shipping:eek:

Thanks for your inputs.I appreciate everyone's opinions.I rather try to solve problems collectively then take it to shop when you never know what they may end up changing replacing without even needing too.I have very little trust in shops.Know 1st hand.

If the fuel filter is 11 years old by all means change it.

I paid shocking 42+shipping for OEM part:eek::eek: my reasons were lot of bikes the FF is outside the tank but my 1998 is inside therefore I figured there is no way for me to know once installed how FF performs.
I saw 7.50-15 FF on ebay but all of them looked tiny toy like parts.I hope it works out for you.
I realized that lot of people totally neglect FF changing until something goes wrong....
