Wrong place at the wrong time.

If you go to the bar or club, You should be fine, Cause this is where the tourist are. As for the killing that happen in the residental area where the drug are.

As long as you have your passport, answer all of the questions that the INS agent asks you, and don't act like an ass....all is just peachy. 25% of folks late at night on weekends are crossing back into the US trashed. As Long mentioned, driving and parking at the border, hoping in a taxi is best. Avenida Revolución is the tourist/popular bar area in TJ. To be honest, last I saw, at least 40-50% of businesses there had shutdown because of a substantial drop in tourism....mostly because of folks being afraid of the drug wars. Some nice red-light districts as well, but the old lady might not like you going there.... :stripper: I should be going as well. What time do you plan on getting down to San Diego Reg??? Oh, and is Brian coming??

Well, that is not quite true....I think you are thinking about all of Mexico....then the drug related killings are said to have been 5100+ in 2008. For TJ....a normal year is about about 300-400. In 2007 there was 337 killings, and in 2008, there were 843 killings....a 250% increase as the two drug cartels battle for turf. Of course, that is what is "reported" as I am sure the real number is much higher. Yes, 90% of this was drug related, and many cops, politicians, government personnel were killed as well. Interesting thing is, the Baja California tourism director was trying to say that it is all being blown out of proportion, and then his 18 year old nephew gets killed by this drug war. In Rosarito, again, the Mayor said it was being blown out of proportion, then gunman storm the police station and kill 3 cops. Most cops are bought out, but to be honest, who can blame them. They get shit for pay, and their options are, barely make a living and get killed for not going along with the drug cartel......or take a payoff, look the other way, and have a better chance of living, and make lots more. Staying in the tourist areas, and out of the eastern part of the city is key. Don't need to get caught in no firefight.... :gun3:

Sounds good Casey. Maybe we can pry that bastage Westley away from the :vanity: and he can cruise up with us as well?

Sounds like he might be the only one. What kind of HD does he have? I mean, full dresser, or a v-rod or what? He might not like the pace/roads....then again, he might show me up!

Don't know. We work together at the Hospital. He works day shift and I work the evening but I'll ask him. If I tell him that he's the only one, he's not gonna show...

I already said I'm coming. GF has to work on Saturday anyway. However, not going to TJ, I can't come back across the boarder with anything in my system... they'd just wait for me to get on my bike, pulled over, DUI, biked impounded, M endorsement taken away.

Though, I still need my rear tire. I got my front replaced with a Pilot Road 2 last saturday, but i lost my debit card friday and didn't pull out enough money for both. Temecula Motorsports has REALLY good deals on tires, 127 for my front, 184 for my rear. I just HATED their customer service and service department, the tech left HUGE lithium grease handprint on my grab rail and it took me forever just to get the parts guy to look up pricing on my PR2s because he didn't think he had them in stock.... only to find out he had them there.

Ya have to think out of the box young padawan....first off, don't park your bike at the border unless you really don't want it to be there when you return... steal a car, ride with one of us, take the trolley (yes you can hoof it down to the Mission Valley station...good exercise...then ride back with us!)...secondly, park (a car) at a few trolley stops up from the border, if you are worried about the po-po watching you get into a vehicle. You don't get out of work until like 6:00pm anyways do you? I was thinking you could roll with me, but I am gonna get out at 3pm at the latest.

You wanna roll up to the meetup point at 15 and pala rd with Casey and me on Saturday morning?

You're going to have to lay down what the plan is. But i'd prolly be down more for the ride, as I'd want to end up back in Temecula afterwards in order to get me some :ncb:

Bring Amanda to the BBQ...Sarah will be coming, as well as Reggie's wife.

You, Casey and I all meet at 7am at the shell station at convoy/52 freeway (we can gas up at the Mobil station at the meetup point...or at least top off). Then we ride up the 15 to Pala road. Meetup starts at 8am, and ride begins at 8:30am. We head to Long's house after the ride, for rest, drinks, and BBQ.

    Amanda's working until 10.

Also, I checked my order for my tire, it's estimating it'll get here on the 23rd (friday). That means, as soon as I get home from work, I'll have to run home, get the tire off the bike, take it to FBC (where I have store credit), have them mount it, bring it back home, put wheel back on the bike, do 150+ miles to break the tire in, go home, meet up with you guys the next day...

I think what I may do is just have the wheel off the bike Thurs night and have someone at my house run it up with the new rubber Friday afternoon to have them mounted and hitch a ride to/from work.

    I hate new tires.

West, I would scrub the tire with an SOS pad and some hot water to get most of the mold release residue off of the tire. Use some sand paper to scuff up the rest then rinse off, and your tire is a whole lot less slippery from the start. Takes only minutes.
